Special Collaborations

It is always an honour when someone from the Kimono community, be it an individual, organization, or company, reaches out to collaborate on a project. These are just a few of my current collaborations aimed at celebrating and promoting the continuation and evolution of the kimono into the future.

Shibori Record Kimono

In collaboration with Chingaraya. Cotton shibori kimono with a design of records and record sleeves. Made in haguro momen. 100% Cotton. Available in five colours: sunshine yellow, small car green, cafe blue, record red, brown (as shown.)

Iwasa Zori Polka-Dot

In collaboration with Iwasa. Polka-dots have been fashionable across generations, so I decided to make a design with polka-dots to go with antique or new kimono. They come in two colours: Tsumugi earth colours and pop colours.

New Kawagoe Touzan

Wide fabric 5.3 meters, enough to make one cotton kimono. Designed by Kimonosheila in collaboration with Kazama, in limegreen,  yellow and purple representing yamabuki, the flower of Kawagoe, and the purple of Kawagoe's famous sweet potatoes, and blue and orange representing European traders arriving over the sea at Nagasaki, bringing Touzan to Japan.  

Care Instructions

  • Soak in hot water overnight before making kimono. 

  • Machine washable in cold water.
